Eric Blanchard enters his third season as an assistant coach with the Rhode Island College baseball program. He assists Head Coach Scott Virgulak with all phases of the RIC baseball program, including recruiting, scouting, administering practice and game coaching.


A former Rhode Island College standout, Blanchard closed out his four-year career with the Anchormen having appeared in 45 games, starting four of them. He was 7-4 with one save, a 5.51 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 80 innings of work. Blanchard ranks fifth all-time in program history with 41 career relief appearances.




As a senior in 2012, Blanchard appeared in 16 games. He was 5-1 with a 3.38 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 32 innings pitched. Blanchard finished the season tied for the team lead in relief appearances, while ranking second on the Anchormen in wins and ERA.


As a junior in 2011, Blanchard appeared in 13 games. He was 0-2 with a 4.22 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 21.1 innings pitched. He was tied for third on the team in appearances.


As a sophomore in 2010, Blanchard appeared in nine games, starting two of them. He was 1-0 with a 10.22 ERA and six strikeouts in 12.1 innings pitched.




As a freshman in 2009, Blanchard appeared in seven games, starting two of them. He went 1-1 with an 8.16 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 14.1 innings pitched.


Blanchard graduated from Rhode Island College in 2012 with a bachelorís degree in elementary education major with a concentration in math.
