Glenn Senecal begins his third season as the Head Women's Basketball Coach at Rhode Island College.

 

Senecal has a wealth of coaching experience at both the Div. I and Div. III levels, having most recently served as an assistant coach at Div. I Central Connecticut State for seven seasons (2007-14).

 

 

 

During his time in New Britain, Senecal helped lead the Blue Devils to the Northeast Conference quarterfinals once, and the league semifinals two times. During the 2008-09 season, the Blue Devils finished 18-14, reached the NEC semifinals and earned the school’s first ever postseason berth where they competed against Boston University in the WNIT.

 

 

Prior to working with the Blue Devils, Senecal served as an assistant coach at Div. I Albany for one season (2006-07). He was the head coach at Div. III Mitchell for three campaigns (2003-06) where he led the Mariners to a runner-up finish in the Northeast Division III Association of Independents.

 

During his career, Coach Senecal has also served as an assistant coach at Boston University, Bryant University, The College of the Holy Cross, Assumption and Nichols. While at Boston University, Senecal helped lead the Terriers to their America East Championship and the NCAA tournament.

 

 

 

The Putnam, Conn. native began his career as an assistant varsity coach at Tourtellotte Memorial High in Thompson, Conn.  He has also coached at Marianapolis Prep.

 

Senecal owns a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Nichols College in 1980.

 

He lives with his wife, Brenda, and son, Andrew, in Putnam.
