KRISTINE (NICHOLAS) GREENE

 TRACK & FIELD

INDUCTED:  2009

Kristine (Nicholas) Greene ’90 starred in track & field during her career as an Anchorwoman. She was named to RIC’s All-75th Anniversary Women’s Track & Field Team in 2005.

Over the course of her career, Greene earned multiple All-New England and All-ECAC honors in both the long and triple jumps. At the time of her graduation, she owned the RIC records in both events (17’04.75”/35’03.75”), which she established in 1989.

 

Greene received the Helen M. Murphy Award, signifying her as RIC’s top female senior student-athlete in 1990.

She majored in psychology and earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Rhode Island College in 1990. She was employed as a head teacher at a local preschool until her marriage. In 1998, Greene embarked on her current career, educating her children at home.

 She has worked with the girls' track & field team at a local high school on a volunteer basis, providing instruction in the long, triple and high jump events. In 2008, Greene was elected and served as a Rhode Island delegate to the republican national convention in Minneapolis.

Greene resides in West Greenwich with her husband Edward and their seven children: Kelsey, Nicolette, Courtney, Hannah, Mason, Noah and Chloe.
