Katherine E. McCalligett í05 had an accomplished indoor and outdoor track & field career from 2001-05 and still holds the RIC record in the 400m for both the indoor (59.11) and outdoor (59.10) campaigns. Over the course of her career, the Warwick, R.I. native totaled one ECAC, 10 All-New England and 22 N.E. All-Alliance accolades. She was selected to RICís All-75th Anniversary Womenís Track & Field Team in 2005. The R.I. Speaker of the House and House of Representatives named her a Scholar-Athlete twice in her career. She received RICís Helen M. Murphy Award in í05.

 

During the 2005 outdoor campaign, she earned All-ECAC honors in the 400m, placing eighth, with a time of 59.11. She earned All-New England honors in both the 200m and 400m. McCalligett placed seventh in the 200 meters with a time of 27.20 and third in the 400m with a new RIC-record time of 59.10 at the New England Div. III Championships on May 19-20. She earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in four events. McCalligett placed seventh in the 100m, third in the 200m, second in the 400m and sixth as part of the 4x100m relay with times of 13.76, 27.10, 60.52 and 52.89, respectively at the Little East Conference/MASCAC Alliance Championships on May 1.

 

During the 2004-05 indoor season, McCalligett earned All-New England honors in the 200m and 400m, placing fourth and first with times of 26.62 and 59.97, respectively, at the New England Div. III Championships on Feb. 19. She earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in five events at the Alliance Championships on Feb. 12. She placed sixth in the 55m with a time of 7.76, second in the 200m with a time of 26.86, and second in the 400m with a time of 1:00.47. McCalligett earned All-Alliance/Little East honors as part of both the 4x200m and 4x400m relay teams, which placed third and second with times of 1:54.08 and 4:22.27, respectively.

 

 

 

As a junior in 2003-04, McCalligett she placed 16th in the 200m with a season-best time of 26.00 and 18th in the 400m with a time of 1:00.48 at the ECAC Championships on May 15. She placed 20th in the 200m and 17th in the 400m with times of 27.18 and 1:00.14, respectively, at the New England Open Championships on May 7. McCalligett earned All-New England honors in the 400m, placing fourth with a time of 1:00.65 at the N.E. Div. III Championships on May 1. She also placed ninth in the 200m with a time of 27.06. She earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in four events at the LEC/MASCAC Alliance Championships on Apr. 24. She finished second in the 200m with a time of 26.05, third in the 400m with a new school record time of 59.54, fourth as a part of the 4x100m relay team with a time of 51.20 and third as a member of the 4x400m relay team with a time of 4:24.63.

 

During the indoor campaign, she broke two school records. She placed ninth in the 400m with a time of 1:00.92 at the ECAC Championships. McCalligett earned All-New England honors in one event. She placed sixth in the 400m with a time of 1:00.30.

 

As a sophomore in 2002-03, McCalligett placed 13th in the 400m with a time of 1:00.24 and 24th in the 200m with a time of 26.87 at the ECAC Div. III Championships. She placed 12th in the 400m with a time of 1:01.19 at the New England Div. III Championships. She earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in four events at the 2003 Little East Conference/MASCAC Alliance Championships. She placed second in the 400m and third in the 200m with times of 1:00.51 and 26.25, respectively. McCalligett placed third as part of the 4x100m relay team and second as part of the 4x400m relay team with times of 52.34 and 4:16.15, respectively

 

During the indoor campaign, she placed 21st in the 400m with a time of 1:00.69 at the ECAC Championships. She earned All-New England honors in the 400m, placing eighth with a time of 1:01.02 at the New England Championships. McCalligett placed 13th in the 200m with a time of 27.18 at the same meet. McCalligett earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in both the 400m and 200m. She placed second in the 400m with a time of 61:32 and fourth in the 200m with a time of 27.18.

 

As a freshman in 2001-02, she placed 12th in the 400m and 22nd in the 200m with times of 1:02.31 and 27:08 at the ECAC Div. III Championships. She earned All-New England honors in both the 200m and 400m at the New England Div. III Championships. She placed seventh in the 200m with a time of 27.13 and eighth in the 400m with a time of 1:00.45, matching her season-best time. She earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in both the 200m and 400m, placing first in the 400m with a season-best time of 1:00.45 and third in the 200m with a time of 27.32, at the Alliance Championships.

 

During the indoor season, she earned All-New England honors, placing seventh in the 400m with a school record time of 1:00.37. She also placed ninth in the 200m with a time of 27.40 at that same meet. McCalligett earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in both the 200m and 400m. She placed second in the 400m with a time of 1:00.73 and third in the 200m with a season-best time of 27.25.

 

McCalligett graduated with a bachelorís degree in nursing from Rhode Island College in 2005. She is a 2001 graduate of Pilgrim High School.

 

She is currently a registered nurse at Rhode Island Hospital and resides in Warwick, Rhode Island.
