Vales and Wood to Captain
Rhode Island College Women’s Soccer

 

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College senior Allison Vales (Bristol, RI) and junior Kim Wood (Little Compton, RI) will captain the women’s soccer team for the 2002 season.

 

Vales, a midfielder, has played in three games for the Anchorwomen, starting all of them. She has one goal for two points. As a junior in 2001, Vales was named Second Team All-Little East Conference. She played in 17 games, starting all of them. She had one goal and two assists for four points on the season.

 

She is a physical education major and a 1999 graduate of Mt. Hope High School.

 

Wood, a midfielder, has played in three games, starting all of them. She leads the team in scoring with two goals and two assists for six points. As a sophomore in 2001, Wood played in 17 games, starting all of them. She had one assist for one point on the season.

 

She is an elementary education major and a 2000 graduate of Middletown High School.

 

The Anchorwomen are currently 2-1. RIC will host Pine Manor College on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 1 p.m.
