Corsairs  Offense Powers Past RIC

Providence, RIóFirst baseman Brett Simarrian went 3-5 with two doubles and five RBI to lead UMass-Dartmouth past Rhode Island College, 18-8, in Little East Conference college baseball action.

 

Corsair second baseman Geoff Nettleton went 3-5 with a double, an RBI and four runs scored and shortstop Rob Delduca was 3-5 with three runs and an RBI to help UMD improve to 7-13-1 on the season and 3-3 in the Little East conference. Pitcher Pat Reedy picked up the win for the Corsairs, improving to 3-2 on the season.

 

RIC pitcher Glenn Dusablon went 3-5 with a home run, three runs scored and an RBI in the defeat. Dusablon also picked up the loss, falling to 1-2 on the season. First baseman Eric Gibree also homered and went 2-5 with two RBI and two runs scored as RIC fell to 12-9-1 overall and 1-3 in the Little East Conference.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will play at Roger Williams tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
