Womenís Soccer Update #3

(3-2-0 Overall, 0-0 in the Little East)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Ryan Angelís team is 3-2 overall and has yet to see action in the Little East Conference. The Anchorwomen defeated Johnson & Wales 3-0 on Sept. 17, before falling to Worcester State 1-0 on Sept. 19.

Junior midfielder Kim Wood (Little Compton, RI) has played in five games, starting all of them. Wood has compiled six points on two goals and two assists.

Sophomore forward Lauren Tomasso (Cranston, RI) has played in five games, starting all of them. Tomasso has three goals for six points on the season. She scored the game-winning goal vs. Johnson & Wales.

Sophomore forward Alexis Bouchard (Warren, RI has played in five games, starting all of them. Bouchard has five points on two goals and an assist.

Sophomore goalkeeper Melissa Carpentier (Woonsocket, RI) has played in five games, starting all of them. She has totaled 40 saves, a goals against average of 0.77 and a .909 save percentage. Carpentier recorded her second shutout of the season in the win over Johnson & Wales.

Sophomore forward Elena Sanborn (North Scituate, RI) has played in five games, starting all of them. Sanborn has three points on three assists for the season.

Senior midfielder Allison Vales (Bristol, RI) has played in five games, starting all of them. Vales has three points on a goal and an assist.

Junior forward Ololade Falola (Coventry, RI) has played in two games. She has one goal for two points on the season.

Freshman forward Corinne Bergen (Portsmouth, RI) has played in three games. She has one goal for two points on the season.

Junior midfielder Jennifer Xynellis (Warwick, RI) has played in five games, starting four of them. She has two points on two assists for the season.

Junior forward Amanda Steere (Pascoag, RI) has played in three games. Steere has one goal for two points on the season.

Freshman defender Katie Benevides (North Dighton, MA) has played in five games, starting all of them.

Junior defender Malissa Holden (Warwick, RI) has played in five games, starting all of them. Sophomore defender Courtney Gardiner (Warwick, RI) has played in five games, starting all of them.

Junior midfielder Hollie Benevides (North Dighton, MA) has played in five games, starting one of them. Junior defender Lindsay Knapp (Wakefield, RI) has played in five games, starting four of them.

Sophomore defender Melissa Skodras (Warwick, RI) has played in four games, starting one of them. Freshman defender Laura Fusco (Foster, RI) has played in two games.

Freshman defender Krystal Alves (Warwick, RI) has played in three games. Sophomore defender Elizabeth Burda (Woonsocket, RI) has played in three games. Freshman midfielder Laura Hayes (Coventry, RI) has played in three games.

In upcoming action RIC will play at Roger Williams on Sept. 24, host Westfield State on Sept. 26 and play at Southern Maine on Sept. 28.
