ANCHORWOMEN STAY UNBEATEN IN THE LEC

Providence, RI— Rhode Island College improved to 6-4 overall and 2-0 in the Little East Conference with a 5-0 shutout over visiting UMass-Boston in collegiate women’s soccer action.

Corinne Bergen and Amanda Steere paced RIC’s offense with a goal and an assist apiece. Lindsey Knapp scored two and Kim Wood rounded the Anchorwomen’s scoring on the day. Goalkeeper Melissa Carpentier was untested in net, on her way to her fifth shutout of the season.

The loss drops UMB to 1-9-1 overall and 0-2 in the LEC.

In upcoming action, RIC will host UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m.
