Bridgewater Slips Past RIC

Providence, RI—Bridgewater State junior forward Kim Olson (Boston, MA) scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 81st minute to lead the Bears to a 2-1 victory over Rhode Island College in women’s collegiate soccer.

The Anchorwomen opened up the day’s scoring with a goal from sophomore forward Elena Sanborn (North Scituate, RI). The Bears tied the game on a goal by freshman forward Jennifer Brogan (Waltham, MA).

The loss drops Rhode Island College to 6-5-1, while the Bears improved to 7—4 on the season.

In upcoming action, RIC will host LEC rival Keene State College on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m.
