Rhode Island College Womenís Soccer Update #9

(6-9-2 Overall, 2-3-2 in the Little East Conference)

Providence, RIóHead Coach Ryan Angelís team is 6-9-2 overall and 2-3-2 (fifth place) in the Little East Conference. RIC lost the last regular season game of the season, 1-0, vs. Eastern Connecticut on Nov. 2. They will open the 2002 Little East Conference Womenís Soccer Tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Plymouth State. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

Sophomore forward Alexis Bouchard (Warren, RI) has played in 17 games, starting all of them. Bouchard has 11 points on three goals and five assists.

Sophomore forward Lauren Tomasso (Cranston, RI) has played in 16 games, starting 13 of them. Tomasso has five goals for ten points on the season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Melissa Carpentier (Woonsocket, RI) has played in 17 games, starting all of them. She has totaled 117 saves, a goals against average of 1.14 and a .854 save percentage. Carpentier has six shutouts on the season and her 12 career shutouts is just 1.5 behind all-time leader Jessica Robitaille Ď00, the teamís assistant coach.

Junior forward Amanda Steere (Pascoag, RI) has played in 12 games, starting one of them. Steere has four goals and an assist for nine points on the season.

Junior midfielder Kim Wood (Little Compton, RI) has played in 17 games, starting all of them. Wood has compiled nine points on three goals and three assists.

Senior midfielder Allison Vales (Bristol, RI) has played in 17 games, starting all of them. Vales has three points on a goal and an assist.

Sophomore forward Elena Sanborn (North Scituate, RI) has played in 15 games, starting all of them. Sanborn has six points on a goal and four assists for the season.

Junior midfielder Jennifer Xynellis (Warwick, RI) has played in 17 games, starting 13 of them. She has four assists for four points on the season.

Freshman forward Corinne Bergen (Portsmouth, RI) has played in 12 games, starting one of them. She has two goals and an assist for five points on the season.

Junior defender Lindsay Knapp (Wakefield, RI) has played in 17 games, starting 16 of them. She has two goals on the season for a total of four points

Freshman defender Katie Benevides (North Dighton, MA) has played in 16 games, starting all of them. She has one goal for two points.

Junior defender Malissa Holden (Warwick, RI) has played in 16 games, starting all of them. She has one goal for two points on the season.

Sophomore defender Courtney Gardiner (Warwick, RI) has played in 17 games, starting all of them.

Junior midfielder Hollie Benevides (North Dighton, MA) has played in 15 games, starting seven of them.

Sophomore defender Melissa Skodras (Warwick, RI) has played in 16 games, starting two of them.

Freshman defender Laura Fusco (Foster, RI) has played in eight games.

Freshman defender Krystal Alves (Warwick, RI) has played in ten games.

Sophomore defender Elizabeth Burda (Woonsocket, RI) has played in four games.

Freshman midfielder Laura Hayes (Coventry, RI) has played in ten games, starting one of them.
