OWLS DOWN ANCHORMEN 80-73

          Providence, RI—Keene State College improved to 15-5 overall and 7-3 in the Little East Conference with an 80-73 victory over Rhode Island College at the Murray Center. RIC falls to 12-10 overall and 4-6 in the LEC.

The Owls scored the game’s first hoop and never looked back. Despite trailing, RIC tied the game on several occasions, lastly at 71-71 with 2:32 left, but the Owls’ resilience was the difference. KSC made two key two steals in the final minute to preserve the victory

KSC had four players in double figures, led by Alphonse Michalski’s 20 points. Derek Swenson had 15 points, and made three of four crucial free throw attempts in the final three minutes.

RIC’s Andre Daley notched his first double-double as an Anchorman with 19 points and ten assists.

In upcoming action, RIC will play at Western Connecticut State University on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
