Rhode Island College Menís Basketball Update #10

(12-8 Overall, 4-6 in the Little East Conference)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Michael Kellyís team is 12-8 overall and 4-6 in the Little East Conference. RIC split games with in-state rivals Salve Regina and Roger Williams last week. RIC fell to Salve Regina, 85-78, on Feb. 4 and topped Roger Williams, 74-62, on Feb. 6. The Anchormen then lost a heartbreaker to regional power Keene State, 80-73, on Feb. 8.

Junior forward Johnafer White (Boston, MA) has played in 21 games, starting 18 of them. He is averaging 13.5 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. He had 16 points and ten rebounds in the win over Roger Williams

Junior guard Kamran Alemdar (Stockholm, Sweden) has played in 21 games, starting 20 of them. He is averaging 12.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Alemdar scored his 1,000th career point in the win over Roger Williams. Alemdar scored his first 755 points as a member of RWU, before transferring into RIC this season.

Junior guard Andre Daley (Boston, MA) has played in 21 games, starting 19 of them. He is averaging 12.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game. Daley recorded his first double-double as an Anchorman, scoring 19 points and dishing out ten assists vs. Keene State.

Sophomore forward Jason Harris (Bedford, MA) has played in 21 games, starting 19 of them. He is averaging 9.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.

Junior guard Lester Carter (Boston, MA) has played in 21 games, starting seven of them. He is averaging 10.1 points, 3.7 rebounds per game and 1.3 assists. Carter scored a season-high 22 points in the loss to Salve Regina.

Freshman guard K.C. Grandfield (Dartmouth, MA) has played in 21 games, starting all of them. He is averaging 5.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 4.6 assists per game.

Freshman forward Brian Stanko (Swansea, MA) has played in 16 games, starting one of them. He is averaging 7.1 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. He scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds in his first career start for RIC in the win over Roger Williams.

Senior forward Mike Costigan (Pawtucket, RI) has played in 21 games. He is averaging 1.2 points and 0.8 rebounds per game. Costigan will be honored on Senior Day prior to the Anchormenís game vs. Southern Maine on Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Murray Center.

Freshman guard Gandhi Arias (Hartford, CT) has played in 16 games. He is averaging 1.4 points and 0.9 rebounds per game.

Freshman forward Brendan Mullen (Fairhaven, MA) has played in 13 games. He is averaging 1.5 points and 1.4 rebounds per game.

Sophomore forward Brendan Baker (South Yarmouth, MA) has played in 15 games. He is averaging 1.0 points and 0.7 rebounds per game.

Sophomore forward Mike Bartunek (Durham, CT) has played in five games. He is averaging 3.0 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.

Sophomore forward Raleigh Brennan (Middletown, RI) has played in four games this season. He is averaging 2.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.

Junior guard Matt Records (East Greenwich, RI) has played in three games. He is averaging 0.7 points and 0.7 rebounds per game.

Junior forward Dan Bower (Sackets Harbor, NY) has played in two games, he is averaging 1.0 rebounds per game.

Sophomore forward Harry Grigsby (Providence, RI) has played in four games, he is averaging 0.5 points and 1.0 rebounds per game.

Sophomore guard Dante Phillips (South Yarmouth, MA) has played in one game. He is averaging 3.0 points per game.

In upcoming action, the Anchormen will play at Western Connecticut on Feb. 11, before hosting Southern Maine on Feb. 15.
