Rhode Island College Women’s Basketball Update #10

(3-18 Overall, 1-9 in the Little East Conference)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Mike Kelley’s team is 3-18 overall and 1-9 in the Little East Conference. RIC fell to Salve Regina, 79-41, on Feb. 4 and to Keene State, 67-52, on Feb. 8.

Junior guard Angela Sarette (Putnam, CT) has played in 19 games, starting all of them. She is averaging 15.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 3.8 steals per game. She returned from a knee injury that sidelined her for two games to score a game-high 21 points in the loss to Salve Regina.

Junior forward Liz Shields (Warwick, RI) has played in 20 games, starting all of them. She is averaging 12.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.2 steals per game. She had 13 points and eight assists in the loss to Keene State.

Junior guard Abby Ferri (Greene, RI) has played in 19 games, starting all of them. She is averaging 10.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.5 steals per game.

Sophomore forward Becca Bissonnette (Danielson, CT) has played in 21 games, starting all of them. She is averaging 7.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

Freshman forward Liz Barrette (North Providence, RI) has played in 21 games. She is averaging 3.6 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.

Freshman forward Stacy Archambault (Woonsocket, RI) has played in 21 games, starting 18 of them. She is averaging 2.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

Senior guard Alicia Hersperger (Providence, RI) has played in 21 games, starting three of them. She is averaging 1.2 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. Hersperger will be honored on Senior Day prior to the Anchormen’s game vs. Southern Maine on Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Murray Center.

Freshman guard Lynn Bertherman (Slatersville, RI) has played in 20 games. She is averaging 1.5 points and 1.4 rebounds per game.

Freshman forward Betsy Bliven (Charlestown, RI) has played in 17 games, starting three of them. She is averaging 1.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. Bliven recently underwent knee surgery and will miss the remainder of the season.

In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will play at Western Connecticut on Feb. 11, before hosting Southern Maine on Feb. 15.
