Warrenís Kyle Teixeira Named
Little East Conference Player of the Week


Providence, RIóRhode Island College freshman forward Kyle Teixeira (Warren, RI) was named the Little East Conferenceís Player of the Week for his performance in menís soccer last week.


Teixeira continued his torrid scoring pace by collecting three goals and adding an assist for seven points to lift RIC to a 3-0 week. He scored the lone goal in RICís 1-0 win over Connecticut College on Sept. 19. He scored two goals, including the game-winner, with an assist in RICís 3-2 win over MIT on Sept. 21.


For the season, he has played in six games, starting all of them. Teixeira has nine goals and four assists for 22 points. He leads the Little East in goals and points, and is tied for first in assists.


He is a physical education major and a 2002 graduate of Mt. Hope High School.


Head Coach Len Mercurioís Anchormen are currently 5-2 overall and have yet to see action in the Little East. RIC will host Salve Regina on Sept. 24, play at Salem State on Sept. 26 and host Southern Maine on Sept. 28.
