Chris Sparks Named
Assistant Menís Basketball Coach
at Rhode Island College

 

Providence, RIóRhode Island College named Chris Sparks as an Assistant Menís Basketball Coach. Sparks will assist Head Coach Mike Kelly with all phases of the RIC menís basketball program including recruiting, scouting, administering practices and game coaching.

 

"This is a great opportunity for me to advance my basketball coaching career," Sparks says. "I am excited to be a part of the Rhode Island College basketball program and am looking forward to the upcoming season."

Sparks previously served as an assistant menís basketball coach at the University of New England since the fall of 1999.

 

He is a 1999 graduate of the University of Southern Maine where he was a three-year letterwinner in menís basketball. He owns a bachelorís degree in history from USM.

 

A native of Springfield, MA, Sparks is a 1995 graduate of Wilbraham & Monson Academy.

 

In addition to his coaching duties, Sparks (25) is a middle school teacher at San Miguel School in Providence. He is single and resides in Providence.
