Kristy Nix Earns Little East
Offensive Player of the Week Honors


Providence, RIóRhode Island College sophomore outside hitter Kristy Nix (East Setauket, NY) was named the Little East Conferenceís Womenís Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.


She registered 27 kills, a hitting percentage of .440, three service aces, ten digs, and seven total blocks in two RIC victories this past week over Western New England and Endicott. On the season, she has played in 91 games in 23 matches. She has 191 kills (2.099/game), a .210 hitting percentage, 37 service aces (0.407/game), 60 digs (0.659/game), and 21 blocks (0.231/game).


She is a 2002 graduate of Ward Melville High School.


Head Coach Craig Letourneauís team is 14-14 overall and is 4-3 in Little East Conference play. The Anchorwomen finished the conference season in third place, which is the teamís highest LEC finish since 1998. RIC will host a first round Little East Tournament match vs. Eastern Connecticut on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.
