Women’s Cross Country Season Summary

Providence, RI--Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s women’s cross country team closed out the 2003 season at the NCAA New England Division III Championships, hosted by Southern Maine, on Nov. 15. The Anchorwomen participated in the ECAC Division III Championships on Nov. 8 and the Little East/MASCAC Alliance Championships on Nov. 1, but did not score as a team.

 

Senior captain Becky Horton (Seekonk, MA) placed 211th with a time of 28:28 at the New England Division III Championships on Nov. 15. She placed 146th with a time of 27:44.11 at the ECAC Division III Championships on Nov. 8. Horton placed 57th with a time of 23:10 at the Little East Conference/MASCAC Alliance Championships on Nov. 1. She finished 78th with a time of 18:22 at the Plansky Invitational * on Oct. 18. She placed 25th with a time of 22:47 at the Roger Williams Invitational on Oct. 11. She finished 38th with a time of 23:24 at the Tri-State Championships on Oct. 4. She placed 50th with a time of 22:53 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 27. She finished 164th with a time of 23:18 at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20.  She was the Anchorwomen’s top runner placing third with a season-best time of 22:27 at the Ocean State Invitational on Sept. 11.

 

As a junior in 2002, Horton placed 174th with a time of 25:40 at the New England Division III Championships. Horton placed 148th at the ECAC Division III Championships with a time of 28:25. She placed 47th at the Alliance Championships with a time of 22:31. Horton placed 152nd at the James Early Invitational with a time of 26:45. She placed 41st at the Roger Williams Invitational with a time of 22:58. Horton placed 17th at the Tri State Invitational with a time of 22:32. She placed 179th with a season-best time of 22:12 at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.

 

As a sophomore in 2001, she placed 204th with a season-best time of 22:25 at the New England Division III Championships. Horton placed 152nd with a time of 23:28 at the ECAC Division III Championships. She placed 56th with a time of 22:14 at the Alliance Championships. She placed 164th with a time of 23:09 at the James Early Invitational. She placed 59th with a time of 24:22 at the Bryant Invitational. Horton placed 41st with a time of 22:54 at the Tri-State Championships. She placed 61st with a time of 24:31 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational. She placed 174th with a time of 23:31 at the UMASS-Dartmouth Invitational. Horton placed 20th with a time of 25:36 at the CCRI Invitational.

 

As a freshman in 2000, Horton placed 201st at the New England Division III Championships with a time of 22:29. Horton placed 142nd at the ECAC Division III Championships with a time of 23:10. She placed 32nd overall, and 20th in the Little East, at the Alliance Championships with a season-best time of 22:20.

 

She is a technology education major and a 2000 graduate of Seekonk High School.

 

Sophomore Kim Cadden (Warwick, RI) placed 202nd with a time of 27:54 at the New England Division III Championships on Nov. 15. She placed 134th with a time of 27:12.37 at the ECAC Division III Championships on Nov. 8. Cadden was the Anchorwomen’s top runner placing 30th with a time of 21:38 at the Little East Conference/MASCAC Alliance Championships on Nov. 1. She was the Anchorwomen’s top runner, finishing 66th with a time of 17:38 at the Plansky Invitational * on Oct. 18. She was the Anchorwomen’s top runner, placing 14th with a time of 21:53 at the Roger Williams Invitational on Oct. 11. She was the Anchorwomen’s top runner, placing 16th with a time of 21:46 at the Tri-State Championships on Oct. 4. She was the Anchorwomen’s top runner finishing 29th with a season-best time of 21:28 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 27. She placed 119th, the Anchorwomen’s highest finish, with a time of 21:33 at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20. She finished fourth with a time of 22:43 at the Ocean State Invitational on Sept. 11.

 

Freshman Brandy Bates (Cranston, RI) placed 167th with a time of 26:34 at the New England Division III Championships on Nov. 15. Bates was the Anchorwomen’s top runner at the ECAC Division III Championships, placing 115th with a time of 26:37.18 on Nov. 8. Bates placed 37th with a season-best time of 21:54 at the Little East Conference/MASCAC Alliance Championships on Nov. 1. She finished 79th with a time of 18:33 at the Plansky Invitational * on Oct. 18. She placed 26th with a time of 22:21 at the Tri-State Championships on Oct. 4. She finished 67th with a time of 24:26 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 27. She placed fifth with a time of 24:58 at the Ocean State Invitational on Sept. 11.

 

Freshman Teresa Kenneally (Florence, MA) placed 224th with a time of 29:37 at the New England Division III Championships on Nov. 15. She placed 191st with a time of 29:22.38 at the ECAC Division III Championships on Nov. 8. She placed 61st with a time of 23:26 at the Little East Conference/MASCAC Alliance Championships on Nov. 1. She finished 82nd with a time of 19:14 at the Plansky Invitational * on Oct. 18. She placed 40th with a time of 23:31 at the Roger Williams Invitational on Oct. 11. She finished 32nd with a season-best time of 23:04 at the Tri-State Championships on Oct. 4. She placed 53rd with a time of 23:09 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 27. She finished 177th with a time of 24:31 at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20. She placed sixth with a time of 25:11 at the Ocean State Invitational on Sept. 11.
