GIBREE BREAKS ALL-TIME HIT RECORD
IN ANCHORMEN WIN

Providence, RIóRhode Island College senior Eric Gibree (Bristol, RI) became the Anchormen's all-time career hit leader with a 2-5 effort in RIC's, 13-8, victory over Becker College. Gibree came into the game needing just two hits to surpass Jim Dennett's '82 previous mark of 157. He singled down the left field line, plating one run, in RIC's five-run sixth inning to notch hit number 158.

RIC sophomore pitcher Wade Briggs (Woonsocket, RI) came on in relief of freshman starting pitcher Caleb Barber (Mystic, CT) in the third inning and allowed one unearned run with three strikeouts to improve to 1-1 on the year.

Becker jumped out to leads in the first, second and third innings, but RIC came back each time. Junior outfielder Glenn Dusablon (Smithfield, RI) and junior first baseman Matt Brannon (Cranston, RI) each clouted two-run home runs to squelch the Hawks' leads. In addition, Dusablon scored three runs and Brannon scored two on the day.

Becker sophomore starting pitcher John Parrisi (Cranston, RI) took the loss, falling to 0-2 on the year. Sophomore catcher John Deluca (Coventry, RI) homered in a losing effort.

In upcoming action, RIC will host Coast Guard tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m.
