Kari Geisler Earns
Little East Women’s Basketball Honors
For Second Consecutive Week

 Providence, RI—Rhode Island College freshman center Kari Geisler (Derry, NH) was named the Little East Conference’s Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for the second straight week.


Geisler averaged 16.3 points and 13.0 rebounds in a 2-1 week to the Anchorwomen last week. She scored a game-high 29 points and game-best 15 rebounds in a thrilling, double overtime win over Plymouth State, 84-83, on Dec. 11. Geisler hit two free throws, one to tie and the other to take the lead, in the second overtime to lift RIC to victory. She has played in seven games, starting two of them. She leads the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.4 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.


Geisler is a physical education major with a minor in Spanish and a 2003 graduate of Pinkerton Academy.


Head Coach Spencer Manning’s team is 5-2 (1-1 LEC) on the season. RIC is now off for finals and the Christmas Break. The Anchorwomen will play at the Colby College Invitational on Jan. 2-3.
