Rhode Island College Gymnastics Update #6

(3-8 Overall; 3-4 in the ECAC)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Bob Nannig’s team is 3-8 overall and 3-4 against ECAC Div. III competition. The Anchorwomen saw action at a tri-meet versus host Brown University and University of Bridgeport on Sunday, March 14. The Anchorwomen finished with a score of 176.225, which was behind Brown’s 191.200 and Bridgeport’s 186.100.

 

Junior Caren Normandin (Fall River, MA) led the team on vault, floor and all-around at the Brown tri-meet, posting scores of 9.250 on vault, 9.650 on floor and 36.325 on all-around, as well as posting 8.300 on bars and 9.125 on beam.

 

Normandin is averaging scores of 9.275 on vault, 8.567 on bars, 9.382 on beam, 9.296 on floor and 36.521 in the all-around.

 

Freshman Hannah Scott (Deep River, CT) is averaging scores of 8.680 on vault, 8.425 on bars, 8.535 on beam, 9.030 on floor and 34.682 in the all-around.

 

Freshman Megan Joseph (Hope, RI) is averaging scores of 8.882 on vault, 7.554 on bars, 8.403 on beam, 8.875 on floor and 33.817 in the all-around.

 

Freshman Melissa Jones (Cranston, RI) is averaging scores of 9.013 on vault, 7.428 on bars, 8.053 on beam, 8.879 on floor and 33.170 in the all-around.

 

Junior Michaela Hogan (Warwick, RI) is averaging scores of 8.975 on vault, 8.527 on bars and 8.538 on floor. Hogan led the team on bars against Brown and Bridgeport, posting a score of 8.850.

 

Freshman Kristina Lemanis (Smithtown, NY) is averaging a score of 7.728 on bars.

 

Sophomore Cristy Pforr (Pembroke, MA) is averaging scores of 8.490 on vault, 8.500 on beam and 8.589 on floor. Pforr led the team on beam against Brown and Bridgeport, posting a score of 9.150.

 

Freshman Cassie O’Blenis (Warren, RI) is averaging scores of 8.842 on vault, 6.400 on bars and 8.658 on floor.

 

Junior Staci Freedman (Raynham, MA) is averaging scores of 9.050 on beam and 9.188 on floor.

 

Sophomore Katelyn Guignard (Newton, NJ) is averaging a score of 7.700 on beam.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will compete at the ECAC Championships hosted by Ithaca College on Sunday, March 21.
