Chamberland, Wojciechowski, and Nix
to Captain Rhode Island College
Womenís Volleyball

 

Providence, RIóRhode Island College juniors Sara Chamberland (Coventry, RI), Stephanie Wojciechowski (North Kingstown, RI) and Kristy Nix (East Setauket, NY) will captain the womenís volleyball team for the 2004 season.

 

Chamberland played in 115 games in 30 matches as a libero in 2003. She had 33 kills (0.287/game), a .104 hitting percentage, 15 assists (0.130/game), 11 service aces (0.096/game), 281 digs (2.443/game), and nine blocks (0.078/game). Chamberlandís 281 digs last year were a school record for a single season.

 

She is a psychology major and a 2002 graduate of Coventry High School.

 

Wojciechowski, an outside hitter, played in 109 games in 28 matches last season. She had 97 kills (0.890/game), a .166 hitting percentage, 34 assists (0.312/game), 51 service aces (0.468/game), 248 digs (2.275/game) and nine blocks (0.083/game).

 

She is a psychology major and a 2001 graduate of North Kingstown High School.

 

Nix, an outside hitter, played in 98 games in 25 matches last season. She had 199 kills (2.031/game), a .202 hitting percentage, 37 service aces (0.378/game), 63 digs (0.643/game), and 23 blocks (0.235/game).

 

She is a business management major and a 2002 graduate of Ward Melville High School.

 

Head Coach Craig Letourneauís squad will open the season at the Springfield College Invitational on Sept. 3-4. The home opener will be held on Wednesday Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. when the Anchorwomen host WPI.
