Men’s Fall Golf Update #2

(Overall Record 1-3)

Providence, RI--Head Coach John Fitta’s Anchormen are 1-3 this season. The Anchormen played one match last week, falling by three strokes, 333-330, to Johnson and Wales on Friday, Oct. 1. The match was played on JWU’s home course, Cranston Country Club.

 

Sophomore Tim Carpentier (Smithfield, RI) has played in four matches and currently owns an average score of 86.8. Carpentier shot a score of 89 in the loss to Johnson and Wales. He shot a season-low score of 83 at the Sept. 27 tri-match against Nichols College and Elms College.

 

Sophomore Sean DeSilva (West Warwick, RI) has played in four matches and currently owns an average score of 85.0. DeSilva shot a score of 85 in the loss to Johnson and Wales. He shot a season-low score of 82 at the Sept. 27 tri-match against Nichols College and Elms College.

 

Sophomore Shawn Rebocho (Albion, RI) has played in four matches and currently owns an average score of 80.5. He was the medallist, recording the lowest score among all golfers, shooting a season-low score of 76 in the loss to Johnson and Wales.

 

Freshman Derrick Garforth (Tiverton, RI) has played in four matches and currently owns an average score of 90.5. He shot a season-low score of 85.0 in the loss to Johnson and Wales.

 

Freshman Alex Simeone (East Providence, RI) has played in three matches and currently owns an average score of 87.3. Simeone shot a score of 88 in the loss to Johnson and Wales. He has shot a season-low score of 87 at both the Newbury College match on Sept. 23, and the tri-match against Nichols College and Elms College on Sept. 27.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will host quad-match with Wentworth, Worcester State and Brandeis on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at Triggs Memorial Golf Course to close out the fall season.
