RIC TAKES TWO AT THE MURRAY CENTER

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College improved to 10-13 overall by taking two matches at home in collegiate women’s volleyball action. The Anchorwomen downed Eastern Nazarene in the opening match, 3-1, then took out Clark, 3-1, in the afternoon’s final match.
 
Sophomore Kari Geisler (Deerfield, NH) had 20 kills and junior Kristy Nix (East Setauket, NY) had 13 kills, 12 digs and three blocks to lead the Anchorwomen over Eastern Nazarene.
 
RIC sophomore Erin Miga (Cranston, RI) had 16 kills and five blocks in the win over Clark. Nix chipped in with 14 kills and eight digs.
 
Eastern Nazarene blanked Clark, 3-0, in the middle match. The Crusaders went 1-1 on the day and now hold a 12-9 overall record. The Cougars go winless in two matches and fall to 4-14 on the season.
 
In upcoming action, RIC will host Western New England College on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.
