Rhode Island College Menís Tennis Update #4

(5-7 Overall; 2-2 in the Little East)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Joe Testaís team is 5-7 overall and 2-2 in the Little East Conference. RIC was 2-0 last week, defeating Newbury, 9-0, on Tuesday, Apr. 19 and LEC rival UMass Dartmouth, 6-3, on Thursday, Apr. 21.

 

Senior co-captain Julio Andrade (Cranston, RI) is 10-2 (.833) at number three singles and 6-6 (.500) at number one doubles for a team-high 13.0 points on the season. Andrade was 2-0 at both number three singles and number one doubles in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen.

 

Junior Barry Manfredi (Westerly, RI) is 8-4 (.667) at number one singles and 6-6 (.500) at number one doubles for 11.0 points on the season. Manfredi was 2-0 at both number one singles and doubles in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen.

 

Junior Elliott LeFaiver (Warwick, RI) is 4-7 (.364) at number two singles and 4-8 (.333) at number two doubles for 6.0 points on the season. He was 2-0 at number four singles and 1-1 at number two doubles in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen.

 

Sophomore Tom Lapierre (Pascoag, RI) is 2-7 (.222) at number four singles and 4-8 (.667) at number two doubles for 4-0 points on the season. He was 1-1 at number two doubles in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen.

 

Junior Chris Furey (Cabot, VT) is 1-6 (.143) at number five singles and 7-5 (.583) at number three doubles for 4.5 points on the season. He was 2-0 at number three doubles in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen.

 

Junior co-captain Jason LaDuke (Warren, RI) is 7-5 (.583) at number three doubles for 2.5 points on the season. He was 2-0 at number three doubles in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen.

 

Sophomore Richard Truchon (North Scituate, RI) is 2-9 (.182) in singles for 2.0 points on the season. He went 1-1 at number two singles in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen.

 

Sophomore Tauquir Puthawala (Lincoln, RI) is 3-1 (.750) in singles for 3.0 points on the season. He went 1-1 at number five singles in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen.

 

Freshman Lorne Teeter (Warwick, RI) is 5-1 (.750) in singles for 5.0 points on the season. He went 2-0 at number six singles in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen.

 

In upcoming action, the Anchormen will host Johnson & Wales on Tuesday, Apr. 26 and Bridgewater State on Friday, Apr. 29.
