Rhode Island College Spring Men’s Golf Update #1
(2-2 overall)

Providence, RI—Head Coach John Fitta’s team is 2-2 on the season. The Anchormen hosted two tri-meets last week at Triggs Memorial Golf Course, splitting both of them. RIC squared off against Wesleyan and Nichols on Monday, Apr. 18. RIC posted a team score of 337, defeating Wesleyan, 337-355, but falling to NC by one stroke, 337-336.

 

The Anchormen faced Johnson & Wales and Wentworth on Wednesday, Apr. 20. RIC defeated JWU, 347-359, but lost to WIT by two strokes, 347-345.

 

Sophomore Shawn Rebocho (Albion, RI) is averaging a score of 82.0 through the club’s first two matches. He was the medallist, firing a match-low score of 77 vs. Wesleyan/Nichols on Apr. 18.

 

Sophomore Tim Carpentier (Smithfield, RI) is averaging a score of 83.0 through the club’s first two matches. He fired an 84, sharing medallist honors, vs. Johnson &Wales/Wentworth on Apr. 20.

 

Sophomore Sean DeSilva (Warwick, RI) is averaging a score of 87.5 through the club’s first two matches. He fired a season-low score of 86 vs. Johnson &Wales/Wentworth on Apr. 20.

 

Freshman Derrick Garforth (Tiverton, RI) is averaging a score of 95.0 through the club’s first two matches. He shot a season-low score of 89 vs. Wesleyan/Nichols on Apr. 18.

 

Senior Mark Lebrun (Woonsocket, RI) is averaging a score of 92.5 through the club’s first two matches. He shot a season-low score of 90 vs. Johnson &Wales/Wentworth on Apr. 20.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will host Johnson & Wales and Worcester State on Friday, Apr. 29.
