RIC OPENS SEASON WITH, 67-41, WIN OVER HAWKS

            Providence, RI—Rhode Island College (1-0) capitalized on 32 turnovers by Roger Williams (0-1) and defeated the Hawks, 67-41, to open the 2004-05 women’s basketball season.

 

RIC had three players score in double figures, led by junior Jamie Angell (Cranston, RI) who had 17 points, four assists and three steals. In addition to Angell’s game-high effort, sophomores Caitlyn Ryan (Chepachet, RI) and Kari Geisler (Deerfield, NH) scored 15 and 11 points, respectively. Sophomore Brittany Rosen (Derry, NH) pulled down a game-high ten rebounds, including six offensive boards. Junior Kristy Nix (East Setauket, NY) had five points and a game-high five steals.

 

Sophomore Jamie Hanak (Hudson, NH) had 11 points, four boards and two assists in a losing effort for the Hawks.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will host Bridgewater State College on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 5:30 p.m.
