Women’s Basketball Update #2

(1-2 Overall, 0-0 in the Little East Conference)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Spencer Manning’s team is 1-2 overall and has yet to see action in the Little East Conference. The Anchorwomen dropped two tough contests last week, losing to Bridgewater State, 73-63, on Nov. 23 and to Connecticut College, 70-52, on Nov. 29. Both games were on the road.

 

Junior guard Jamie Angell (Cranston, RI) has played in three games, starting all of them. She is averaging a team-high 14.0 points and 4.3 assists and 4.0 steals along with 1.7 rebounds per game. Angell dropped a team-high 12 points, six steals, and five assists in the Anchorwomen’s, 70-52, loss to Connecticut College. For her efforts, she was named to her second Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Honor Roll of the season.

 

Sophomore forward Kari Geisler (Derry, NH) has played in three games, starting two of them. She is averaging 9.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and a team-high 4.0 steals per game. Geisler collected a team-high seven rebounds in RIC’s, 70-52, loss to Connecticut College.

 

Sophomore forward Brittany Rosen (Derry, NH) has played in three games, starting all of them. She is averaging a team-high 9.0 rebounds along with 9.0 points, 2.0 assists and 2.7 steals per game.

 

Sophomore forward Caitlin Ryan (Chepachet, RI) has played in three games, starting two of them. She is averaging 9.7 points, and 3.3 rebounds per game.

 

Senior guard Alyson St. Amand (West Warwick, RI) has played in three games, starting one of them. She is averaging 1.3 points, and 2.3 rebounds per game.

 

Junior forward Kristy Nix (East Setauket, NY) has played in two games. She is averaging a team-high 3.5 steals along with 8.0 points per game.

 

Freshman forward Josalee Danieli (New Gloucester, ME) has played in three games, starting one of them. She is averaging 3.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.

 

Freshman guard Sarah Coughlin (North Attleboro, MA) has played in three games, starting one of them. She is averaging 1.7 assists, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals and 1.7 points per game.

 

Freshman forward Jessica Shiel (Warwick, RI) has played in two games. She is averaging 3.0 points per game.

 

Freshman forward Sherri Heard (Coventry, RI) has played in two games. She is averaging 3.0 points per game.

 

Freshman guard Marissa VanHaverbeke (Barrington, RI) has played in two games.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will have two road contests. The Anchorwomen will travel to Wellesley on Tuesday, Nov. 30 for a 7 p.m. tip-off before opening LEC play on Saturday, Dec. 2 when they will face Plymouth State at 1 p.m.
