Women’s Basketball Update #3

(1-4 Overall, 0-0 in the Little East Conference)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Spencer Manning’s team is 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the Little East Conference. The Anchorwomen dropped two road games last week, first losing to Wellesley, 76-69, on Nov. 30 and then to LEC foe Plymouth State, 68-53, on Dec. 4.

 

Junior guard Jamie Angell (Cranston, RI) has played in five games, starting all of them. She is averaging a team-high 14.6 points, 5.2 assists and 4.0 steals along with 1.7 rebounds per game. Angell dropped a team-high 18 points and dished out 10 assists in the Anchorwomen’s, 76-69, loss to Wellesley. She has been named to the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Honor Roll twice this season.

 

Sophomore forward Kari Geisler (Derry, NH) has played in five games, starting four of them. She is averaging 10.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, and a team-high 2.8 steals per game. Geisler collected 12 points and a team-high 11 rebounds in RIC’s, 76-69, loss to Wellesley. She also had 13 points and nine rebounds in the loss to PSU. For her efforts, she was named to the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Honor Roll.

 

Sophomore forward Brittany Rosen (Derry, NH) has played in five games, starting all of them. She is averaging a team-high 9.4 rebounds along with 8.2 points, 2.0 assists and 2.6 steals per game. She registered a game-high 13 rebounds in RIC’s, 76-69, loss to Wellesley.

 

Senior guard Alyson St. Amand (West Warwick, RI) has played in four games, starting two of them. She is averaging 1.8 points, and 1.8 rebounds per game.

 

Junior forward Kristy Nix (East Setauket, NY) has played in four games, starting one of them. She is averaging 6.3 points and 1.6 steals per game.

 

Freshman forward Josalee Danieli (New Gloucester, ME) has played in five games, starting two of them. She is averaging 5.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.

 

Freshman guard Sarah Coughlin (North Attleboro, MA) has played in five games, starting one of them. She is averaging 2.2 assists, 1.8 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 2.0 points per game.

 

Freshman forward Jessica Shiel (Warwick, RI) has played in four games. She is averaging 2.3 points per game.

 

Freshman forward Sherri Heard (Coventry, RI) has played in four games. She is averaging 2.5 points and 1.0 rebound per game.

 

Freshman guard Marissa VanHaverbeke (Barrington, RI) has played in four games.

 

In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will travel to Johnson & Wales on Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m. RIC will then host to Westfield State on Thursday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m.
