Rhode Island College Menís Basketball Update #4

(6-3 Overall, 1-1 in the Little East Conference)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Jack Perriís team is 6-3 overall and 1-1 in the Little East Conference. The Anchormen are currently riding a three-game winning streak and have won six of their last seven contests.

 

RIC went 3-0 last week with wins over Johnson and Wales, 87-72, on Dec. 7, Salve Regina, 68-53, on Dec. 9 and earned its first LEC win at Eastern Connecticut, 83-78, on Dec. 11.

 

Sophomore guard Kamari Williams (Springfield, MA) has played in nine games, starting all of them. He is averaging 17.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.9 steals per game. He had 19 points, five rebounds, two assists, one block and a steal in the LEC win over Eastern Connecticut on Dec. 11. Williams had 18 points, seven boards and two assists in the win over JWU on Dec. 7. For his efforts, he was named to the LEC Weekly Honor Roll.

 

Senior guard Andre Daley (Boston, MA) has played in nine games, starting all of them. He is averaging 13.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.6 steals per games. He had 11 points and five boards in the win over JWU on Dec. 7.

 

Sophomore guard Kinsey Durgin (Greenwood, ME) has played in nine games, starting all of them. He is averaging 11.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game. Durgin had 11 points, three rebounds, three steals and one assist in the win over Salve Regina on Dec. 9.

 

Senior forward Jason Harris (Bedford, MA) has played in nine games, starting all of them. He is averaging 10.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. He had 14 points, 11 rebounds, one assist and a block in the win over JWU on Dec. 7. Harris has been named to the Little East Conference Menís Basketball Honor Roll once this season.

 

Sophomore forward John Weir (Danbury, CT) has played in nine games, starting all of them. He is averaging 7.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and a team-high 1.1 blocks per game. Weir posted his first career double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds, two go along with two blocks and two steals in the LEC win over Eastern Connecticut on Dec. 11.

 

Freshman guard Davon Yarbrough (New Haven, CT) has played in nine games. He is averaging 6.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game. He had 14 points, four rebounds and four assists in the LEC win over Eastern Connecticut on Dec. 11. For his efforts, he was named to the LEC Weekly Honor Roll.

 

Junior guard Kevin Payette (Woonsocket, RI) has played in nine games. He is averaging 4.9 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.

 

Junior guard Jared Starnino (Providence, RI) has played in seven games. He is averaging 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.

 

Sophomore guard Amde Tegbaru (Stockholm, Sweden) has played in five games. He is averaging 0.8 points and 0.8 rebounds per game.

 

Sophomore forward Anthony Pierlioni (Plainville, CT) has played in nine games. He is averaging 3.7 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.

 

Freshman guard Kofoworola Edmonds (Providence, RI) has played in nine games. He is averaging 2.9 points and 1.0 assists per game.

 

Freshman guard Benjy Nichols (New Haven, CT) has played in eight games. He is averaging 3.5 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.

 

Junior forward Brendan Mullen (Fairhaven, MA) has played in three games. He is averaging 0.3 points and 0.7 rebounds per game.

 

Freshman guard Justin Lopez (New Haven, CT) has played in one game.

 

Freshman guard Ondinis Almanzar (New York, NY) has played in two games. He is averaging 1.5 points and 1.0 rebounds per game.

 

RIC is off for finals and the holidays. The Anchormen will resume the season at home vs. Bridgewater State on Jan. 6 at 6 p.m.
