RIC DOWNS UMASS-BOSTON, 95-87

            Providence, RIóRhode Island College earned a, 95-87, victory at The Murray Center in collegiate basketball action on Saturday afternoon. The Anchormen are now 7-4 overall and 2-1 in the Little East Conference, while the Beacons fall to 5-7 overall and 2-1 in the Little East.

 

RIC freshman guard Davon Yarbrough (New Haven, CT) posted career-highs in three categories with 20 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Senior forward Jason Harris (Bedford, MA) posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore guards Kinsey Durgin (Greenwood, ME) and Kamari Williams (Springfield, MA), along with senior guard Andre Daley (Boston, MA), each scored in double figures with 15, ten and 13 points, respectively. Williams added seven assists, six boards and three assists in the win.

 

UMB sophomore guard Tony Barros (Dorchester, MA) led all scorers with 26 points. Freshman Alberto Paniagua (Lawrence, MA) had 18 points, six boards, three assists and two steals.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will host Little East foe Southern Maine on Tuesday, Jan. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
