ANCHORWOMEN SNAP LOSING STREAK;
EARN FIRST CONFERENCE VICTORY

            Providence, RI—Rhode Island College stopped a four-game losing streak with a, 73-54, win over UMass-Boston in collegiate women’s basketball action on Saturday afternoon. RIC improved its overall record to 4-8 and earned its first Little East Conference victory (1-2) with the win.

 

RIC sophomore forward Kari Geisler (Deerfield, NH) notched a double-double with a game-high 21 points and 12 rebounds, along with two assists and two steals. Sophomore forward Brittany Rosen (Derry, NH) also reached double figures in points and rebounds with 17 and 13, respectively. Freshman forward Josalee Danieli (New Gloucester, ME) had nine points, nine rebounds, four assists and a steal.

 

UMB sophomore guard Kristen Reske (Duxbury, MA) and freshman forward Jennifer Bennett (Lake Luzerne, NY) led the Beacons in scoring with 12 and ten points, respectively.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will host Little East foe and nationally-ranked Southern Maine on Tuesday, Jan. 11 at 5:30 p.m.
