PANTHERS DOWN ANCHORWOMEN, 65-58

            Providence, RI--Plymouth State University sophomore guard Ashley White (Merrimack, NH) scored a game-high 16 points to go along with six rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block to lead the Panthers past Rhode Island College, 65-58, in collegiate women’s basketball action.

 

PSU improves its record to 6-9 overall and is now 4-3 in the Little East Conference. RIC falls to 7-10 overall and 3-4 in the LEC.

 

In addition to White, PSU was led by senior forward Lauren Devereaux (Hope Valley, RI) and sophomore guard Colleen Mahoney (North Attleboro, MA) who had 12 and 11 points, respectively. Devereaux chipped in with seven boards, two assists, two steals and a block. Mahoney had five boards, four assists and one steal.

 

RIC sophomore forward Kari Geisler (Deerfield, NH) had 12 points and nine rebounds in a losing effort. Junior guard Jamie Angell (Cranston, RI) registered a team-high 14 points.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will play at Western Connecticut on Tuesday, Jan. 25.
