LANCERS DEFEAT ANCHORWOMEN, 66-57

            Providence, RI—Worcester State College improved its record to 15-5 overall with a 66-57 victory over Rhode Island College in collegiate women’s basketball action. The loss was the fourth straight for the Anchorwomen who fall to 7-13 on the season.

 

WSC senior forward Donna Zwemke (Ware, MA) had 14 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals in the win. Freshman forward Maureen Lemay (Nashua, NH) had 11 points and seven rebounds. Senior center Jen Harris (Lake Mary, FL) had ten points, eight boards and three blocks.

 

RIC junior guard Jamie Angell (Cranston, RI) led all scorers with a game-high 16 points. Sophomore forward Kari Geisler (Deerfield, NH) had nine points and eight rebounds.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will play at UMass Boston on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 1 p.m.
