Women’s Basketball Update #10

(8-13 Overall, 4-6 in the Little East Conference)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Spencer Manning’s team is 8-13 overall and 4-6 in the Little East Conference. The Anchorwomen went 1-1 last week. RIC lost at home to Worcester State, 66-57, in their first game of the week, on Thursday, Feb. 2. The Anchorwomen then snapped their four-game winning streak by taking a, 81-63, decision over LEC opponent UMass Boston on Saturday, Feb. 5.

 

Junior guard Jamie Angell (Cranston, RI) has played in 21 games, starting 18 of them. She is averaging a team-high 13.8 points and 3.6 assists along with 1.6 steals and 1.7 rebounds per game. She has been named to the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Honor Roll three times this season.

 

Sophomore forward Kari Geisler (Derry, NH) has played in 21 games, starting 19 of them. She is averaging 11.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. She has been named the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week twice this season. Geisler has been named to the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll twice this season.

 

Freshman forward Colleen Feeney (Providence, RI) has played in 11 games, starting two of them. She is averaging 8.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. She has been named the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week once this season.

 

Sophomore forward Brittany Rosen (Derry, NH) has played in 21 games, starting 19 of them. She is averaging 7.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game.

 

Senior guard Alyson St. Amand (West Warwick, RI) has played in 20 games, starting three of them. She is averaging 2.0 points and 1.4 rebounds per game.

 

Junior forward Kristy Nix (East Setauket, NY) has played in 20 games, starting 15 of them. She is averaging 7.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and a team-high 2.5 steals per game.

 

Freshman forward Josalee Danieli (New Gloucester, ME) has played in 21 games, starting 16 of them. She is averaging 6.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.

 

Freshman guard Sarah Coughlin (North Attleboro, MA) has played in 21 games, starting six of them. She is averaging 2.3 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.8 assists per game.

 

Freshman forward Jessica Shiel (Warwick, RI) has played in 15 games, starting one of them. She is averaging 1.9 points per game.

 

Freshman forward Sherri Heard (Coventry, RI) has played in 16 games, starting one of them. She is averaging 3.6 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. She recorded a career and game-high 18 points in the win over UMass Boston.

 

Freshman guard Marissa VanHaverbeke (Barrington, RI) has played in six games.

 

In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will play two LEC games this week. RIC will travel to UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 5:30 p.m. The Anchorwomen will then travel to Southern Maine on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m.
