Women’s Basketball Update #11

(9-14 Overall, 5-7 in the Little East Conference)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Spencer Manning’s team is 9-14 overall and 5-7 in the Little East Conference. The Anchorwomen went 1-1 last week in two Little East Conference road games. RIC defeated UMass Dartmouth, 64-53, in their first game of the week, on Tuesday, Feb. 8. The Anchorwomen then dropped a, 90-51, decision to nationally ranked Southern Maine on Saturday, Feb. 12.

 

Junior guard Jamie Angell (Cranston, RI) has played in 23 games, starting 19 of them. She is averaging a team-high 13.7 points and 3.6 assists along with 1.5 steals and 1.8 rebounds per game. She has been named to the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Honor Roll three times this season.

 

Sophomore forward Kari Geisler (Derry, NH) has played in 23 games, starting 20 of them. She is averaging 10.9 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. She has been named the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week twice this season. Geisler has been named to the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll three times this season.

 

Freshman forward Colleen Feeney (Providence, RI) has played in 13 games, starting three of them. She is averaging 8.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game. She has been named the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week once this season.

 

Sophomore forward Brittany Rosen (Derry, NH) has played in 23 games, starting 20 of them. She is averaging 7.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Rosen has been named to the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll once this season.

 

Senior guard Alyson St. Amand (West Warwick, RI) has played in 22 games, starting three of them. She is averaging 2.0 points and 1.3 rebounds per game.

 

Junior forward Kristy Nix (East Setauket, NY) has played in 22 games, starting 16 of them. She is averaging 7.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and a team-high 2.6 steals per game.

 

Freshman forward Josalee Danieli (New Gloucester, ME) has played in 23 games, starting 18 of them. She is averaging 6.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

 

Freshman guard Sarah Coughlin (North Attleboro, MA) has played in 23 games, starting seven of them. She is averaging 2.1 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.7 assists per game.

 

Freshman forward Jessica Shiel (Warwick, RI) has played in 17 games, starting two of them. She is averaging 1.7 points per game.

 

Freshman forward Sherri Heard (Coventry, RI) has played in 18 games, starting two of them. She is averaging 3.5 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. She has been named the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Honor Roll once this season.

 

Freshman guard Marissa VanHaverbeke (Barrington, RI) has played in seven games.

 

In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will close out the regular season with two home games this week. RIC will host Western Connecticut on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 5:30 p.m. and Keene State on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 2 p.m.
