(3-0 Overall; 0-0 in the Little East Conference)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Ryan Angel’s team is 3-0 overall and has yet to play a Little East Conference opponent.

Anchorwomen Notables

RIC is 3-0 on the season, equaling the best start to a season since the 2000 squad also began with a 3-0 mark. The best start in RIC history is the 6-0 record the 1999 squad established.

•  The Anchorwomen opened the season with a 2-1 victory at Salem State on Sept. 1. RIC then took two at home, defeating Roger Williams, 3-2, on Sept. 6 and Coast Guard, 1-0, on Sept. 9.

Sophomore midfielder Krista MacKinnon (Exeter, RI) has been the offensive sparkplug for the team. MacKinnon leads the team with three goals, two of which are game-winners. She scored both goals in the win over Salem State and her insurance goal in the 54th minute vs. Roger Williams proved to be the difference.

Freshman Krissie Pyzynski (Bristol, CT) has been a stalwart in net. She’s posted a 3-0 record, made 16 saves and logged a 1.00 goals against average to go along with a .842 save percentage in three games. She posted her first collegiate shutout vs. Coast Guard. For her efforts, she has been named the Little East Conference’s Rookie of the Week.

Senior defender Katie Benevides (Rehoboth, MA), junior midfielder Caitlin Gavin (Portsmouth, RI) and junior forward Erika Haaland (North Dartmouth, MA) have been named team captains for the 2005 season.
