WESTERN CONNECTICUT DRAWS WITH RHODE ISLAND COLLEGE, 0-0

DANBURY, CT - In a driving rain storm, the Western Connecticut State University and Rhode Island College men's soccer teams battled to a 0-0 double-overtime tie at Westside Athletic Complex Saturday afternoon.

The Colonials are now 9-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the Little East Conference. The Anchormen sit at 6-4-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the league.

Daniel Michalowski (Bristol, CT) turned away two shots on the afternoon for WestConn. Sean Gonsalves (Somerset, MA) made six stops for Rhode Island College.

The much-awaited match up between the Little East Conference's leading scorers, WestConn's Bradley Fidler (West Lawn, PA) and RIC's Kyle Teixeira (Warren, RI), each with 13 goals on the season, never materialized as the rain and both defense kept the pair at bay.

WestConn hosts Albertus Magnus this Wednesday, October 12.  Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
