RIC EARNS SENIOR DAY SWEEP

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College swept a match, 3-0, from Connecticut College on Senior Day in collegiate women’s volleyball action. The Anchorwomen improve to 21-13 overall, notching the most wins in a season since 1986 (22). The Camels fall to 15-9 on the season.

 

RIC senior outside hitter Kristy Nix (East Setauket, NY) led all players with a match-high 15 kills and 15 digs. Junior middle hitter Erin Miga (Cranston, RI) posted eight kills and eight blocks. Senior libero Stephanie Wojciechowski (North Kingstown, RI) and junior defensive specialist Kara Sarcione (Londonderry, NH) had 15 digs apiece. Sophomore setter Jeanne Rosa (Milford, CT) had 19 assists and four service aces.

 

Connecticut College freshman outside hitter Caitlin Tomaska (Solano Beach, CA) led the Camels with nine kills and seven digs, while senior setter Molly Kawachi (New York, NY) recorded a match-high 25 assists.

 

In upcoming action, RIC is the fourth seed in the upcoming Little East Conference Women’s Volleyball Tournament and will host fifth-seeded UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.
