Angell’s 19 Deep-Six’s JWU

            Providence, RI—Rhode Island College defeated Johnson & Wales University, 64-54, in collegiate women’s basketball action on Tuesday night. RIC, which has won four of its last five games, ups its record to 5-2 on the season. The Wildcats fall to 3-2 overall.

 

RIC senior guard Jamie Angell (Cranston, RI) led all scorers with 19 points to go along with six assists, four boards and a steal in the win. Sophomore forward Colleen Feeney (Providence, RI) had 15 points, six boards and two blocks. Junior forward Kari Geisler (Deerfield, NH) had 16 points and nine boards.

 

JWU senior center Samantha Cowens (Chicago, IL) posted a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will host Connecticut College on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m.
