ANCHORWOMEN DOWN CAMELS, 74-61
Angell and Feeney Lead RIC to Win

            Providence, RIóRhode Island College defeated Connecticut College, 74-61, in a non-conference matchup on Thursday evening. RIC improves to 6-2 on the season, the best start for the Anchorwomen since the 1998-99 squad also went 6-2 to open the year. The Camels fall to 4-4 overall.

 

RIC senior guard Jamie Angell (Cranston, RI) and CC sophomore guard Devon Kearns (Glastonbury, CT) each scored 20 points to lead their respective team. Angell added seven assists, four rebounds and two steals for the Anchorwomen.

 

RIC sophomore forward Colleen Feeney (Providence, RI) posted a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. Junior guard Brittany Rosen (Derry, NH) had 12 points, while junior forward Kari Geisler (Deerfield, NH) had 12 boards.

 

CC sophomore forward Katy Serafin (Carmel, NY) posted a double-double in a losing effort with 12 points and 14 boards.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will host Plymouth State on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 1 p.m.
