Kari Geisler Named Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

 

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College junior forward Kari Geisler (Deerfield, NH) was named the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after her performance in a 2-0 week for the Anchorwomen.

 

Geisler averaged 16.0 points, ten rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals as the Anchorwomen closed out the regular season. She had 16 points, ten rebounds, two blocks and three steals, plus hit the game-winning layup as time expired, in RIC’s, 57-55, win over UMass Boston on Feb. 18. It was her 12th double-double of the season. She had 16 points and ten boards in the Anchorwomen’s, 65-60, win at UMass Dartmouth on Feb. 14.

 

Geisler is a physical education/health major and a 2003 graduate of Pinkerton Academy.

 

In upcoming action, Head Coach Spencer Manning’s team is the sixth seed in the 2006 Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament and will play at third-seeded Eastern Connecticut on Feb. 21.
