3-1 Victory Over Johnson & Wales Gives RIC Unofficial Title

Providence, RIóRhode Island College captured the unofficial Rhode Island State Championship, by downing Johnson & Wales, 3-1, in a battle of the Ocean Stateís four Div. In the dayís other action, both Roger Williams and Salve Regina went 1-2.

Junior outside hitter Madison Greene (Cranston, RI) had a huge match vs. the Wildcats for RIC, posting 18 kills, six digs and two blocks. Junior right side hitter Sherri Heard (Coventry, RI) and senior middle hitter Erin Miga (Cranston, RI) totaled 10 and 11 kills, respectively. Miga also posted a team-high six blocks. The junior setter tandem of Jeanne Rosa (Milford, CT) and Amy Souza (Tiverton, RI) combined for 47 assists with 26 and 21, respectively.
