Rhode Island College Hosts Annual Invitational
in Women’s Track & Field Action

 

Providence, RIRhode Island College hosted its annual women’s track & field invitational on Saturday, Mar. 31. It was an individual meet with no team scoring.

 

Sophomore Kayla Fleming (Pawtucket, RI) placed first in three events, taking home the title at 1,500 meters with a time of 5:09.40 and in both the long and high jumps with leaps of 4.70 and 1.55 meters, respectively.

 

Sophomore Mary Ellen Horsman (Barrington, RI) placed first in the hammer with a throw of 42.34 meters.

 

Sophomore Ashley Nyzio (Pawtucket, RI) placed first the javelin with a distance of 40.42 meters.

 

Freshman Stephanie Bucci (Smithfield, RI) placed second in the hammer and fifth in the discus with distances of 40.40 and 25.20 meters, respectively.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Bryant University Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 7.
