Eight Earn All-Alliance/Little East Honors for
Rhode Island College at Alliance Championships

 

Fitchburg, MAHead Coach Kevin Jackson’s women’s outdoor track and field team took part in the 2007 Little East/MASCAC Alliance Championships, hosted by Fitchburg State on Saturday, Apr. 28. The Anchorwomen placed fifth (12 teams) with a team score of 74.0. Southern Maine won the meet with a score of 173.0.

 

Sophomore Kayla Fleming (Pawtucket, RI) earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in five events, placing eighth as part of the 4x100 relay team with a time of 56.53, first in the 800 meters with a time of 2:23.83, seventh as part of the 4x400 relay team with a time of 4:37.62, second in the long jump with a distance of 5.13 meters and first in the high jump with a leap of 1.65 meters.

 

Sophomore Mary Ellen Horsman (Barrington, RI) earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in the hammer, placing first with a distance of 44.05 meters.

 

 Sophomore Ashley Nyzio (Pawtucket, RI) earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in the javelin, placing second with a distance of 38.12 meters.

 

Freshman Stephanie Bucci (Smithfield, RI) earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in three events. She placed second in the hammer with a 42.06-meter effort, second in the discus with a distance of 32.97 meters and third in the shot at 10.35 meters.

 

Freshman Brooke Iby (Dracut, MA) earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in three events. She placed sixth in the triple jump at 10.22 meters, eighth as part of the 4x100 meter relay team with a time of 56.53 and seventh as part of the 4x400 meter relay team with a time of 4:37.62.

 

Freshman Elizabeth Ann Glunt (Altoona, PA) earned All-Alliance/Little East honors as part of the 4x100 meter relay team, which placed eighth with a time of 56.53, as well as the 4x400 meter relay team, which placed seventh with a time of 4:37.62.

 

Freshman Kendra DiGiulio (Warwick, RI) earned All-Alliance/Little East honors as part of the 4x100 meter relay team, which placed eighth with a time of 56.53.

 

Freshman Christine Smith (Foster, RI) earned All-Alliance/Little East honors as part of the 4x400 meter relay team, which placed seventh with a time of 4:37.62.
