Three From Rhode Island College Earn
All-New England Honors
in Women’s Outdoor Track & Field

 

Providence, RI— The Rhode Island College women’s outdoor track and field team competed at the New England Div. III Championships, hosted by Springfield College on Friday and Saturday, May 4-5. The Anchorwomen placed 17th (28 Teams) with 11.5 Points.

 

Sophomore Kayla Fleming (Pawtucket, RI) earned All-New England honors in the high jump, placing fourth at 1.56 meters. She also placed 15th in the long jump at 4.79 meters.

 

Sophomore Ashley Nyzio (Pawtucket, RI) earned All-New England honors in the javelin, placing fourth with a 36.74-meter effort.

 

Sophomore Mary Ellen Horsman (Barrington, RI) earned All-New England honors in the hammer, placing seventh at 43.59 meters.

 

Freshman Stephanie Bucci (Smithfield, RI) placed ninth in the hammer and 14th in the discus with distances of 41.27 and 28.71 meters, respectively.

 

Freshman Brooke Iby (Dracut, MA) placed 14th in the triple jump at 9.98 meters.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the New England Open Championships, hosted by Dartmouth on Friday and Saturday, May 11-12.
