Rhode Island College Names Andrew Schoepfer Development & Marketing Intern

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College has named Andrew Schoepfer as the development and marketing intern for the 2007-08 academic year.

As the development and marketing intern, he will assist Assistant Athletic Director for Development and Marketing Tim McCabe with the oversight of game-day marketing and the promotions with each of RIC’s 19 intercollegiate varsity sports. Schoepfer will also serve as a liaison with the Anchor Club, the College’s athletic booster club, to build corporate partnerships with local businesses.

“Andrew comes to us with an impressive background,” McCabe said. “There is no question he is going to be a valuable asset to the marketing department, as well as, the overall athletic department.”

The Waterford, Connecticut native is a recent graduate of the College of Holy Cross, where he excelled on and off the field as a guard on the football team. Schoepfer represented the Crusaders in the 2006 East Coast Bowl, an all-star game featuring student-athletes from Division I-AA, Division II, and NAIA levels. Schoepfer was a mainstay on the offensive line—a four-year lettermen and a three-year starter. The 2006 All-American Honorable Mention earned All-New England honors as a senior, while also garnering All-Patriot League praise twice.

For his efforts in the classroom, Schoepfer was named to the Patriot League All-Academic Team as a junior and senior. He was involved extensively in the athletic department throughout his undergraduate career, serving as the co-chair on the Student Athletic Advisory Committee for two campaigns, while also working in the sports information office. Schoepfer received his bachelor’s degree in political science in May, 2007

Schoepfer also brings professional experience to the College, serving as an intern for the New England Patriots and New England Revolution during the summer of 2006. He was responsible for marketing the “Extra-Point Card,” as well as, supervising game-day management and player signings.
