Middletown, CTóRhode Island College suffered its first loss of the season in a 24-16 defeat at New England College Conference Wrestling Association opponent Wesleyan on Friday evening. RIC falls to 2-1, while the Cardinals win (1-0) in their first dual action of the season.

            The Anchormen held a 10-6 advantage at the mid-way point, before surrendering the lead for good with a forfeit at 125 lbs. Junior Mike Bonora (Nutley, NJ) picked up his team-leading 17th win of the season, wrestling up a weight class at 149 lbs., with a pin to pull the Anchormen within five. Freshman Mike Martini (Cranston, RI) needed a five-point win to even the contest in the match's final bout, but fell, 10-4, to Dan deLallal.

            Rhode Island College is off for finals and the holidays. The Anchormen resume the season on Dec. 29-30 at the Citrus Duals in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
