Springfield, MA—The Rhode Island College women’s volleyball team dropped their second match of the 2007 Springfield College Invitational, falling, 3-0, to the hosts on Saturday afternoon. After keeping within striking distance of the Pride through the first two games, Springfield turned on the jets in game three with a decisive, 30-19, win.

The Anchorwomen totaled just 26 kills in the loss, led by senior middle blocker Kimiyo Garcia (Riverside, RI) and senior hitter Sherri Heard (Coventry, RI) who each logged six on the day. Sophomore outside hitter Sharon Corriveau (Coventry, RI) and freshman libero Mary Kate Winter (Narragansett, RI) each registered a team-high 10 digs. Heard posted four blocks, while senior setter Amy Souza (Tiverton, RI) handed out a RIC-best 19 assists.
