ANCHORMEN BLANKED BY BEARS
RIC Suffers Second Consecutive Loss & Second Shutout of Season

New London, CT—Rhode Island College dropped to 2-3 overall in a 2-0 loss to Coast Guard on Tuesday evening. It was the second consecutive loss for RIC as well as the second time the Anchormen have been held scoreless on the season.

Rhode Island College junior goalkeeper Jadon Neves (Warren, RI) made seven saves as his record dips to 1-2. The Anchormen were outshot, 17-13, by the Bears and were led offensively by freshman forward Miguel Sagastume’s (Providence, RI) four shots.

Goals by CGA’s Thomas Cameron in the 64th minute and Matt Zangle in the 76th minute helped propel the Bears to a 3-1 mark this fall. Goalkeeper Chris Tarbell made five saves to earn a shutout in his first collegiate start.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play at Johnson & Wales on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 4 p.m.
