ANCHORWOMEN WIN THIRD STRAIGHT
Garcia Paces RIC Attack in Win at Emmanuel

Boston, MA—The Rhode Island College women’s volleyball team won their third consecutive match, notching the Anchorwomen’s fifth victory in the team’s last six matches, in a 3-1 win at Emmanuel on Tuesday evening. RIC ups its record to 5-3, while Emmanuel remains winless with an 0-5 mark on the season.

 

Senior middle blocker Kimiyo Garcia (Riverside, RI) led RIC with 15 kills, 14 digs, four blocks and two service aces. Sophomore middle blocker Desiree Georges (Woonsocket, RI) and senior outside hitter Madison Greene (Cranston, RI) chipped in with eight kills apiece. Georges added three solo blocks. Senior setters Jeanne Rosa (Milford, CT) and Amy Souza (Tiverton, RI) combined for 38 assists with 21 and 16, respectively.

 

In upcoming action, Head Coach Luis Carvalho’s team will play at WPI on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m.
